AUDITION

The audition process for acceptance into the Studio program is simple and direct. You may find the requirements below.

In this inaugural year for this specialized training program, auditions will occur with very tight turn around. It is likely that this may create some additional complication for some applicants. Specific requirements, including the due date, may be adjusted upon a request from the applicant to Studio faculty. Adjustments will be fair and balanced. Applicants may also request in-person auditions. When possible, we can travel to or closer to you. Acceptance and announcement of the 2024 Studio will be made by April 15, 2024.

American Gothic Performing Arts is committed to creating professional caliber shows. This is achieved by working with best people available. We enjoy cultivating an inclusive, diverse, and safe environment that is beneficial to the creative and collaborative processes. We encourage actors of all ages, ethnicities, gender identities, and disabilities to audition.

Singing

Two (2) sixteen-measure cuts of contrasting style from preferably the musical theater repertoire, but art song is acceptable.

Dancing

Demonstrate your skill in movement and dance with an approximate 1-minute clip of a dance/show choir combination.
