AGPA Statement on Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

At American Gothic Performing Arts, we believe in fostering an environment that values and celebrates diversity, equity, and inclusion. We recognize that the arts have the power to unite individuals from all backgrounds and experiences, and we are committed to using this platform to create positive change in our community and beyond.

We strive to provide a welcoming and inclusive space for all individuals regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, ability, religion, socioeconomic status, or any other characteristic that makes them unique. We actively seek out diverse voices and perspectives to ensure that our programming reflects the richness and diversity of our community.

We are committed to promoting equity by removing barriers and creating opportunities for underrepresented groups in the performing arts industry. This includes providing accessible programming, mentorship and training opportunities, and actively recruiting and hiring individuals from diverse backgrounds.

We are dedicated to creating a culture of inclusion where everyone feels valued, respected, and supported. We prioritize ongoing education and training for our staff, artists, and community members to deepen our understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion and to identify and address biases and systemic barriers.

We believe that by prioritizing diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of our organization, we can create a more vibrant and inclusive community that celebrates and values the contributions of all individuals.
