A series of day camps for students grades K-8 exploring music, theater, dance and art.
Age levels*: K–2, 3–5 and 6–8 *Age groupings are determined by a student's current grade during the 2017-2018 academic year.
Fee: $40/session or $125 for all four camps
Music
This camp track focuses on bringing stories to life through music theater. Whether it's opera or musical theater, music is combined with words to tell a story. Students will sing, have group or private voice lessons, prepare ensemble scenes for performance, listen and watch great performances, and have fun with the fundamentals of music.
Theater
This camp track focuses on bringing stories to life through spoken word. Students will prepare scenes, have fun with improvisation, practice basic and advanced stage movement and presence, and learn technique-based exercises to improve ensemble and individual acting skills.
Dance
This camp track focuses on bringing stories to life through movement. Students will dance, practice basic and advanced dance techniques, learn musical theater and hip-hop dance styles, stage ensemble scenes, and receive group and individual coaching.
Art
This camp track focuses on bringing stories to life through costume and set design. The camp uses visual art as a starting point for theatrical creation. Students will study famous art and designs and create costume and set designs.
More Info
Camp tracks will be led by professional and young artists in each specialized field. Student experiences and activities will vary according to their age level. They will also participate in daily assemblies where guest speakers will provide an inside look into arts study, pre-professional college preparation, and the professional world of the arts.
The camp week culminates in a sharing of discoveries and learning presented to family and friends on Saturday, June 16 on the main stage at Bridge View Center.
